On our first day of Arts in Education, our teaching artist, Meg, asked us to create a sculpture using our bodies, in groups. At first nervous. She only gave us a short amount of time so I felt RUSHED and the WARM room suddenly felt like a SUANA. I could hear the HUM of other groups talking. My group decided to make a TALL, ROBUST sculpture. We stood in STRAIGHT line and STRETCHED our arms out, alternating the direction that our arms pointed. Working together as a group allowed me to feel UNRUFFLED and CALM since we acted as one.
ReplyDeleteon the first day of arts and education meg my teaching artist ask us to make a sculpter out of our boddies.my group made a star and presented it. thats why it is really fun
ReplyDeletei agree with you and i felt the same way as you did. i felt very pressured to do the right thing and not mess up doing it.I also felt very nervous ablut getting in front of people but i did it any way.
ReplyDeletemy first day at arts and ed. was a bit soothing at first i thought she going to make me do some wierd nutty thing but it was pretty fun knowing we would go at a rate i was comfortable with.
ReplyDeleteMy first day at Arts In Education was a bit comforting. At first I thought Meg was going to make do some nutty dance moves but instead we took it slow. All we did was discuss dancing and our inspiration. When we wanted to present or discuss dance would make a circle of people with Meg standing in the front of the room. The room looks like a square with desks arranged in a horse shoe shape with a white touch touch screen board called a "Smartboard". I liked Arts In Education because it sort of opened my thought about dancing.
Deletei think arts and ed is a very creative class. Its really fun and i think we will learn not to be as shy as life goes on. Meg is very cool and i think we can all learn stuff that we need from her in our lifes shes inspiring.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't as nervous for me. On the day we had arts and ed I just WINGED it.It wasn't that stress we wern't really danceing yet. When we start danceing then I will get really nervous. The reason for that is that I don't dance in front of the public or my teachers. In my group my PEERS can up with the idea of makeing a COMPLEX shape. It was a wierd JUMBLED mess that wasn't SYIMETRICAL.We were spralled out on the floor. But in the end it was ok.
ReplyDeleteThe first day of Arts and Ed I walked into the room and saw our Arts and Ed teacher, Meg. She then told us to make a shape with just our bodys so Tim, Tyler and me made a dimond. Then the set was over and we left.
ReplyDeleteMaddie Teachout
ReplyDeleteOn the first day, I was really UNCOMFORTABLE. I didn't want to EMBARASS myself in front of my friends. I barely ever raised my hand to answer any questions. But I was okay, bexause I Knew my classmates were NERVOUS too. OVERALL it was fun and INTERESTING. I ENJOYED creating our bodies into statues, although it was a little DIFFICULT!
Arts and Ed is okay. i felt nervous at first because i dont like to be in font of people that is one of my fears. i felt better when i found out we had to do it in a group.then i felt relived when we did good.our shape was like a chain link with a break in it.
ReplyDeleteArts and Ed is cool.I like the first day because we made a sculpture out of our bodies.I thought it was weird at first.we had groups to do it with. we had someone on the floor and someone in the middle of three people.

ReplyDeleteThis year in Arts and Education we are learning something related dance. IT teaches us how to dance using our writing. I think it is more PLEASANT than what the 7th grade has been learning in english. I got yelled at a lot in this class because I was being more creative than I was supposed to.
ReplyDeleteI like that this informed and told about what happened. My group also got a little creative and got yelled at
DeleteOn my first day of Arts and education I was very EAGER to see what we would be doing. When our INSTRUCTOR Meg told us to form into groups I was THRILLED to not be siting hearing about an INTRODUCTION to what we would be doing anymore. Then Meg told us that we would be making a sculpture with our bodies. My group came up with a UNIQU idea to just do it randomly. When we got up to PRESENT we just made it up and looked like a TANGLED mess.It was a great EXPERIENCE and I had a great time.
ReplyDeleteMy first day in Arts in Education was enjoyable. My group got in a sphere and joined our hands to make a star. I was unsure at first if I would enjoy it or not. But I did enjoy it and that is a positive thing.
ReplyDeleteMy first days in arts in ed was Enjoyable but also Uncomfortable. I thought that it would be stupid. It was not stupid it was fun. I just had a bad attitude. My group got together and we made star with our arms. I enjoed arts in ed that way and i think it is a good experience.
DeleteYeah same here i disliked it at first and thought that it would be stupid and then a couple weeks after it kinda got a little better
DeleteEme I think I'm posting were I'm suppost to. Anyway tommarows arts and ed I'm trying to do well I guess even thought it's not my taste. In arts and ed tommarow I hope we start danceing. I'm wondering what music that we dance to.Based on what we're doing so far it might be easier.
ReplyDeletein regards to kates post i think she is 100 percent right megan is really fun and is teachin us how to usse or imagination and be creative to either make a sculpture out of ur body or come up with a dance move for a emotion like if u were happy maybe u would jump up in the air with a big smile on ur face. and kate is right she is inspiring because shes been inspiring us to not be afriad and show the real u and not 2 be shy
ReplyDeletei agree with ari because i was happy to get out if a chair and do somthing different. i thought it was a fun experience to but i still dont like to be out in front of everyone.
ReplyDeleteI liked the first day too ms.O'Brien
ReplyDeleteSo we are sopost to comment on someones comment?
ReplyDeleteAbout Ari's I agree it was diffrent and unquic in a good way thought I'm not totally into it. And it was very strange all the sculpters.
ReplyDeleteEme
I agree whith maddie 100 percent! It was so weird to have to do that whith evry one watching. I thougt I was the only one that nervous but it is comfurting to Know I wasent alone!!!
ReplyDeleteyester day when we started to learn each others moves first the group would perform then meg would enterprite after that we would try it as a group then on to the next group of performers
ReplyDeleteYesterday in Arts in Educaion Meg told us to make a motion independently that represents either scared or tense. Since no one wanted to do it alone Meg said we could do it in groups. I got in a group with Tim, Tyler, and William and we made a motion where we sat down then we would pop up and pretend we had knives in our hands and we were going to stab eachother.
ReplyDeleteI like how this describes all the elements of what we really did. The word Independently was pretty good to. Meg was a great teacher and I feel like this comment EXPRESSED that. Good job Dylan.
Deletethe first day of arts and ed was soooo fun. iliked the second better, me and ms lagonia did a funny dance and it was hillarious. i have no shame so i will always volentire 4 the stupidest things

ReplyDeleteon the 3rd day of arts and ed. meg had us separate into groups of 3-4. the people in my group were Abby and nick . after we seprated into our groups we had to pick an emotion . then after we picked a emotion we had to create a motion that we thought would fit it best . after that we practiced our motion to make sure all of us had it down. later we had to wait and watch others present there motion. until it was our turn after we presented the bell rang and we had to go .
ReplyDeletethe other day in arts and ed we learned to express emotions through dance. first we read a vinette then we described the element to the vinette.next we split into groups of 4. finaly weperformed in front of the class.
ReplyDeletein arts and ed first we got into groups. Then we acted out the words scary and tense with motion. After we all tried eachothers motions. Finally we combined them into one.
ReplyDeleteIn Arts and Ed the first day it was fun. First we got to go into groups of our choise. I thought it was good that we could choose ourselves. We had to choose one of the words to make a motion for. My group decided to use the words scary and tense in a mixture. We all had made our motions then after that all of the groups came togther and tried eachothers motions. Then we COMBINED the motions into one piece of WORK I thought it was pritty good for our first day or Arts and Ed.
Deletei do agree with ari i am glad that were not doing book work but i didnt feel eager i felt nervouse because im not one 4 goin in front of people and dancing or making sculptures i felt silly that we were making sculptures with our bodie but after wordz when i did it in front of every one i realized maybe this isnt as bad as it seems and i realized that this isnt really my thing but meg is a really cool
ReplyDeleteso when ellen sinopolii came to our school it was cool yes i have to say that that isnt the kinda dancing i like but it was cool to see somthing diffrent .there were 6 dancers i believeand it was cool how some of them did surrnten things like some dida jump thing but the other twirlled in a cicle or somthing it not like they were all doing the same move at the they were all doiong there own thing it wasnt like the same thing after another i think it was pretty cool but thats all i have to say sooo BYE
ReplyDeletein the performance Ellen Sinopli came to vist us. one performance was called "Rising Low" that performance was with five woman, the was a solo for one woman while the others sat in prop chairs with DEPRESSED looks on the faces. that performance was the LONGEST out of the performances, also my favorite. the dancers looked as if they were going to cry or upset as some would say. the performance was WONDERFUL
ReplyDeletetorrey u are right there performance 4 rising low was wonderful i really liked it to it was creative and it was somthing diffrent and the one girl that did her solo was really good her dancing was terrific.
DeleteWhen the Ellen Sinopili dance company came to our school they EXECUTED three dances. My favorite of the three was the first one Coming and Going. It had only one man in it and woman that came out at different times. The costumes were grey with little black, green, yellow, and red squares on it.The dance had no story to it but it made me feel like it was more of a going to work then coming home. There were lots of LEAPS, running awkward, and poses in it.At a certain point they were all in a line doing the same moves at different counts of music in a round.I like it because it was more upbeat then sad and meaningful.I thought it was an AMASSING dance and it filled me with energy.I was relay GLUM when it was over.
ReplyDeletei think the show was pretty cool so ur right and ur right there were alot of acward poes and movin in the dances and wat was cool it that they were pretty creative movmnets
DeleteThe Ellen Sinopoly Dance Company did a MAGNIFICENT job. Their dance moves were FLUID and CONCISE. They had obviously practiced BEFOREHAND. When they danced, it seemed almost SURREAL. They also looked very CONTENT and happy, so they must have been enjoying the dance, too.
DeleteWhen we watched the Ellen Sinopli Dance Copany they peformed 3 dances called Coming and Going, Rising Low, and Oh My. On the first dance there was a line of people jogging in place then one person would do a small solo then go back in the line the dancers were very EXITED during this dance. The second dance there were five girls. one of them did a solo for most of the dance then the other girls began to dance with her. In the last dance Oh My it was very slow and most of the time the dancers were dancing in SYNC.
ReplyDeletedylan i think that in the first one they werent just jogging they were bending and twistig .but yes they did look very excisted .and the second one this one girl was doin a solo for aboout haalf the time and then the other girls joined in . and the third was kinda slow but other parts if it began to speed up
DeleteOn the first day of arts in ed i didn't know what to expect, i thought we were going to have to dance and stuff like that. i was kind of confused when Meg, (our arts in ed teacher told us to get in a group and make a shape with our bodies. Thefirst day wasm't to bad, and it was even kind of fun.
ReplyDeleteOn our first day of arts and education, meg taught us how to shape our bodies it was really fun
ReplyDeleteYesterday we had arts in ed. Meg tought use a few dance terms like SPACE,TIME,MOVEMENT,and SHAPE. After Meg said to get in groups and form a shape. My group made a dimond. Later the groups had to show there shape to the rest of the class. Then Meg called on a few of use to use up alot of space. Finally the bell rang and we all went to our next set.
ReplyDeleteOn our first day of Arts in Ed., which was a while ago, Meg taught us about many different VOCABULARY words for dance. She taught us about SPACE and NEGATIVE SPACE, which I thought was the most INTERESTING. She put us in groups, and the four people in my group had to make shapes with our bodies. I had to lay on the ground.
ReplyDeletethe first day of arts and ed i felt weird because she said you might feel UNCOMFORTABLE.we taked about space in dace. we all were in a circle, she put a chiar inthe middle and toled billy to try to make that shape with his body. billy could not make the shape.
ReplyDeleteyesterday in arts in ed meg taught us vocabulary words like negitive space, space. but what i didnt like is it was out of my comfort zone standing in the middle of the room making a wierd shape with matt, mickle jhonson, brianne and alphonse it was kind of wierd.
ReplyDeleteOn the first day of arts and ed i felt like that she was a joke for making us dance and move, but then it kinda became fun a little bit. she had everybody stand up and move around a little bit. I was not embarrased to do the moves the meg asked me to do. At the time i thought that arts and ed was going to be very lame, and it did not sound interasting and it sounded like it was boring.
ReplyDeleteOn the first day of arts in ed i thought that it was just going to be about dancing but its about making shapes and teamwork. It is akward making the weird shapes.
ReplyDeleteOn the first day of arts in ed i thought that it was just going to be about dancing but its about making shapes and teamwork. It is akward making the weird shapes.
ReplyDeleteIM don't know if the other one commented it cause it still says 51 comments so I guess I have to right it again. ON our first day of arts and Ed we did lots of MOVMENTS with our bodies, creating sculptures with them and lots of other fun games. I was at first a little But then I warmed up to the idea of being in front of everyone. Now the rest of the day is an OBSCURE and all I do is look forward to the next time Meg comes.
